Supporting the careers of public television programming professionals by providing resources that enrich, inspire and educate.
Our Vision

We are a trusted partner and essential resource for programming professionals in the ever-changing industry of broadcast and digital curation, distribution and consumer viewing trends. PTPA offers a collegial atmosphere in which to trade best practices, networking, professional development and mentoring opportunities to help local public television stations connect to their local communities.
PTPA President | Jill Linder

As we enter a new membership year, I want to personally thank you for your continued support of the Public Television Programming Association. Your participation is what makes this community such a strong and collaborative space for programmers across the system.
This past year brought its share of challenges, uncertainty around federal funding, continued shifts in viewer behavior, and the growing need to meet audiences wherever they are. Throughout it all, PTPA has remained focused on supporting programmers with the tools, connections, and encouragement to adapt and lead.
One throughline we’re especially proud of is our emphasis on the importance of local. In all aspects of programming strategy we’ve centered local programming as a key driver of relevance and trust and we’ll continue that focus in the year ahead.
While membership rates are increasing slightly this year, I continue to believe PTPA offers exceptional value. Our professional development and networking opportunities are designed to meet your evolving needs and help you grow in both confidence and capacity.
I hope you’ll renew your membership and stay part of this dynamic, resilient, and forward-looking community.
Warm regards,
Jill Linder

How are you doing these days? It's been a month since the Recission has wrought this new world of uncertainty, and we're already hearing from colleagues about discussions and actions taken at their local stations.
Please join us at the next PTPA Shop Talk for an hour (or two) with your colleagues. Bring your thoughts, perspectives, concerns, and stories. We'd like to hear from you about how this affects you, your department, and your station. Are you hearing from your members or the community?
It's a new world, and while we may not be able to meet in person again this year, we are here for each other. Let's make the most of this moment and continue the conversations that will help us serve our communities.
